COTEC Public Statement
As an umbrella organisation of National Occupational Therapy Associations across 33 European Countries our thoughts are with our Occupational Therapy colleagues as well as the people and communities in all the areas affected by the devastating conflict in Ukraine. The lives and everyday occupations of people have been destroyed or severely disrupted and their right to live the life they choose has been taken away from them.
COTEC opposes all activities that violate human rights, weaken the well-being and health of human beings and diminish their opportunities for participation and engagement in meaningful activities. We sincerely recognise the harm that a crisis like this brings. The displacement of millions of people, forced to leave their homes and safe environments will have long term consequences in societies.
COTEC calls on our Members and partners to stand united and hope that a peaceful solution is found soon.
